Default Engine & box

So went to look over a 2003 wrx for a mate elya and found myself with more question about my own car, so I know I have had an imported engine swap but I also noticed that the bell housing and box seem to be closer to the fire wall on mine, both cars were 2003 wrx's would this suggest that the box might have been changed along with the engine

The import WRX cars have AVCS heads which would mean an ECU swap. You may find a Hawk or even Classic box may have been fitted.

How do you know your engine is from an import, is it documented?

Unfortunately not emailed Subaru UK over Facebook with the engine code off the block by the bell housing and they had no recorde of the engine at all and recon it's most probably an import replacement
