Greetings from West Chester, Ohio! I am a 2003 WRX owner in search of some hard to get parts. Oddly enough it's nearly impossible to find a set of Prodrive mudflaps for the GDB WRX. Now that the snow is flying and the roads are messy I would love to have a set.
My best mate lives up in Wenvoe north of Cardiff and I think I can talk him into grabbing a set for me, but he's not a Scoobyphile so doesn't know where to go. He is a serious car guy though so he won't be clueless when he gets the info.
Can anyone help me out? Is there a shop in the Cardiff area that carries a good supply of Prodrive or is all that stuff over in the Midlands?
Thanks much.
Mitch

Assuming the 2003 flaps are the same as the 2002 they retail for £340 for a set of 4. There is a guy on scoobynet selling replicas for £125/set. Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you pics of both so you can compare. Wenvoe is a 5 minute drive from my house so no probs there.

Thanks Mike. Email the pix to me here: mhamm@wornick.com
My friend is an engineer up at the GE facility north of Cardiff and has been over there for about 3 years now I guess (He's a Londoner originally). We have been over to visit him once and are going back next year. And I may come again for the WR GB next fall.
Thanks!

Andy,
Fairborn is pretty close to me as I am just south of Dayton. Sorry for the delay in response, but I have been away for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Make sure while you are in the Dayton area to check out the US Air Force museum. It is an amazing place and best of all, it's free.

Andy,
I too am a ham though inactive at present due to too many irons in the fire. My callsign is N8XS (first licensed in 1978). I have even toyed around with installing my 2M/70CM rig in the Scooby as it is one of those detachable faceplate dealies from Kenwood, but it is low on the priority list right now.
I used to go to Hamvention every year. Amazing place!
And yes, beer would be good when I get over there. I think I gained 10 pounds the last time I was there from drinking all the bitter. Yummy stuff. I also remember this amazing Portugese restaurant in Cardiff where all the meat is hung from an overhead rack and you cut off bug hunks as you go. Wonderful!
Cardiff is a very cool city and I love the proximity to all the castles. Caerphilly was one of my faves and Castle Coch was cool, too. Can't wait to go back.

Andy,
When I was licensed back in 1978 it was as a novice and only had code priviledges. I never did much HF work back then. My new extra class callsign I have had for about 5 years and only made a few UK contacts during the time I played with HF. I only had a modest little vertical for a while and a tuned inverted L for another period and never more than 100 watts, but did pretty well with that.
I am not sure if I will be here or there. It depends on when my friends' kids have their school holiday. We really love their boys and want to make sure we're there when they can have some fun.
