Question

Off-side front tyre wear is a bit unusual so thinking of getting alignment checked out, does anybody out there know who can do 4 wheel alignment in Cardiff area, and roughly what it costs.

There's a place in Pontllanfraith (Near Blackwood) Down on the old tram road opposite Ford (uuch, spit, splutter, spit)

Mototec - The got a website...

About 60 or 70 quid all in

They use a computer to align...

Think they can give you various settings ... i.e. cornering, top speed (**** like that)

I've used them..... If I remember correctly the guys name is Mike

I don't know what it is with me and CVC, everytime I go on in to them I end up feeling like they are trying to ~*~* me. I phoned the other day about the 4 wheel alignment and the fella I spoke to said £50 quid plus vat, he also mentioned if they have problems it may be a bit more. I said I'd call back and book a date after I'd looked at my diary. I phoned about 10 minutes later and spoke to the lady that works in service reception and she booked me in for today. I turned up at 10 this morning only to be told £95 plus vat. Basically accused me of being a liar, walked straight out cos I could feel myself loosing the plot fast. Cheeky twots, I shall never go to them ever again if I can help it. I can't fathom it out how Subaru every won that JD power award, yes the Impreza is great, but customer service, from dealer and IM goes from average to crap, normally the latter. So 4 wheel alignment still to do, unfortunatly I can't make Powerstation on Sat as I'm working, I may pop up there in the next week or so.

If anybody else has had the same level of customer service from CVC I would be interested to hear what you have to say.

U aint on your own mate, when I had a UK Turbo I`d go out of my way to take it to Keith Price in Abergavenny rather than give those
to55er5 any of my hard earned.
Went in there about 3 years ago to get a price on some OZ alloys,
the salesman promptly said that if I was thinking off selling
my car that he`d give me 11 grand for it as a part ex against an
RB5 on the forecourt.Wasn`t interested at the time but when I got
home I started to think about it.Two weeks later I went back and
the other brother offers me 9 grand ! I told him what I`d been
offered 2 weeks ago and he went to fetch his brother, who in turn
told me to my face that he "couldn`t recall offering me 11K" !!!
I`ll rest my case there( although I could go on ),purely cos I dont
need to bother with `em no more as I`ve got an STI 5 Type R,which
they won`t look at anyway (boo hoo !!!).

well to be fair to cvc
i cant fault them
only had one service done there
but took it in 24 hours earlier than i
should have..wrong day (doh)
no problems the lady said
in it went,,back it came
even took it to their second hand
showroom up the road to jet wash it for me

also
you may have read this on another thread
when i decided to px my99 turbo for a sti8
the salesman offered me £12,000
i thought that was fair and was well pleased
"bring your car in and we'll give you something to drive
around in till the sti8 arrives"
now i was thinking...i aint drivin around for 3 weeks in a justy
before i had a chance to say a word he said
"bring the car in and i will give you a new 03 wrx to
drive"
great i thought
i took my car in
just about to drive out with a new wrx covered in C.V.C. stickers
thinking i can live with this for 3 weeks
when he said "bring it back on saturday (march 1st)
and i will loan you one without the stickers"
no charge for loan car...
that means..2 new wrx's in 4 days and the sti8
should be here 3rd week in march
i think i got a good deal from cvc
they are throwing in a set of sti mats aswell
as i said in the other thread
no..i dont work for them
no he aint sha%%ing my g/f
no i aint sha%%ing him
no ..i aint related to him
jason ..(the salesman) i think you are a star

Your ok scoobieblue if you buy your car from them, I know Mike (MSP1) is very happy with them, but it seems to me if you didn't buy it from them or they are not going to make a big buck from you they are not bothered about you. This is my second scooby, first was a UK spec import, everytime I went in with that all I got was attitude because I had gone to Holland and saved several grand, the point they missed was I couldn't afford a car in the UK, dollards. I started having my last car serviced at Keith Price and they were great, P1 as a loan car while mine was being serviced. I bought my STi UK from them but I thought as I now had a UK car CVC would have a better approach to me. WRONG!!!! I'v written to complain to CVC so I'll see how they address my complaint before I slate them anymore. Watch this space!

Have to say I have always had good service off CVC and bit their hands off when I got 16k P/X However a couple of things have happened recently which I haven't been impressed with. More details when everything is cleared up.

Hmm you all should know by no the problems i've been having with the engine in my car! Its now gone back in and i should have it back for Friday.

In total CVC have had my car for approximatly 6weeks since December. I'm pretty annoyed that i have had no courtesy car at all from them for the complete duration they've had my car.

I find CVC fair enough as a dealer but what i dont like is being lied to. I needed to have an oil change in the gearbox and engine at 1000 miles. Took it to them at 1300 and had it done. Spoke to the woman and was told £70 before i'd got there. When i was given the keys i was told £130. Questioned it and wasn't given any satisfactory explanation. Paid it and bit my lip.

More to come on the Engine front later on in the week. When all is cleared up.

Seems that when you spend money its all ok, otherwise.....

I wrote my letter of complaint to CVC and all credit to them they have got back to me and apologised for the mis-understanding and are letting me have the 4 wheel alignment for £50. So it pays to complain ladies and gents.

i've found them to be ok generaly but it's the pricing that is so dodgy!
Ring 1 day and get a price (£18inc vat for locking nuts) get there and its suddenly £24.
Only a little difference cos the item was cheap but from what i see hear the prices vary quite a bit , day to day, person to person!

My experience of both dealers has been that CVC are great for service/attitude and KP don't give a toss.

Looked to spend £20k on a new scoob just after christmas, had a chat with both explained I was driving over 30K a year (3 services each year plus tyres). Also added I wanted to PPP in a couple of months.

Deal from both dealers for the same car different colour.

CVC - 9.5k part ex on my97 turbo plus morrettes lights for free + mats and a tank of petrol.
KP - 8k part ex take it or leave it, don't care about your future trade as we will easily be able to sell the car you want to buy sir.
At that point told them to **** off and walked out.
Also arranged a test drive 2 days in advance and when I turned up, they gave me a WRX wagon??? looking to buy a saloon.

Been back to CVC on numerous occasions - service and attitude has been great - thanks Jason.

However when I always ring CVC and ask for prices on the phone, I ask for the name of the person i'm speaking to and explain I want to deal with them when I come in!

Pay your money and you make your choice!
