I reckon they a making sure no-one is going to get away with speeding when the specs system becomes live.
I wonder if you can buy/make sticky dead flies to apply liberally to your number plates![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Money grabbing bar stewards.
Just drove up to Ikea tonight - cameras bl@@dy everywhere.

As subject.
Got stoped tonight at J23 for illegal number plate spacing. Nothing else wrong other than gap between numbers and letters was closed up, no funny screw positioning etc.
No fine though. Just get new plates and take it to an MOT centre for verification. Guess that'll be the cost of a pair of plates and £14 at MOT station.
Watch out !
Cheers

The plod must have a campaign on dodgy plates at them moment....I got pulled last night on way home from work because of my stick on front number plate. It is only MARGINALLY smaller than a normal plate but with normal big black digits etc. Because it wasn't fixed in a horizontal plane I got booked for "obscuring a registration mark"....30 quid fine!! ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

It's amazing how clean number plates remain. Coming back from a holiday in cornwall got stopped by the rozzers there for mud on numberplate. Yes I'd done it deliberately but luckily the nipper was in the back so he got the blame (not from me the copper actually said, "It looks like the youngster has been messing about" or words to that affect. To try and get them dirty more realistically I drove into a farmer's field and did some "muck" spreading. Got stuck an' all and the bleedin' plates were still nice and clean (unlike the car's interior - and yours truly). I've heard someone suggest chain lube so that everything sticks to the plate but not sure how effective this is.
