Well Mid Wales Run Number 8 was a great success, if a tad more leisurely than the last one I went on.

Simple reason was when we got to the Devil's Staircase it was a tad snowy
We got part way up to be confronted by the rear end of a Fiat Panda, the owner of which had been stuck there for 2 hours. (and appeared to be stoned )
After a further couple of hours we'd got him, and all of our cars, to the top, and down the treacherous roads the other side. We didn't go as far as usual, but the scenery was stunning, and best of all there were no punctures this time around

Ta once again to Chris Garner for organising it all.

Anyway, 5 pages worth of pictures can be found here:

Incidentally, if people can put names to cars in the first few pictures it would be helpful

I was in the back Golf GTi that found a couple of stragglers hanging out by the bacon-roll van a bit further up the A48. Hope you all met up on time!

Cheers everyone who made my first MWR one to remember. Also thanks to chris for organising such a great fun day out!

MWR no9 cannot come quick enough.

i'm the owner of the only wagon on the run.

P.S. Appologies to the owner of the WRX03 who unfortunately caught a rock from my back wheel on the Golden mile (baron mountain) which resulted in a cracked windscreen.

Cheers
Barry

I think Chris said on the run that he'd leave the next one until mid February-ish, to give the weather a chance to improve.
We were lucky that half the roads were clear and dry this time, and so safe to take enthusiastically. If they'd all been wet and icy or snow-covered like the roads around Devil's Staircase, we'd have been doing 20mph all the way round

Should be back for the next one guys. Have some fresh and tidy new pirelli boots on, my sti6 spoiler is coming soon (more downforce, of course!!) and it looks as though we have identified a split intercooler hose which is causing my misfire! (Samco's now ordered)

So I should be able to come next time! Wish I had come yesterday now though, I love snow!!

See you all soon!!

Surely Chris isn't speechless?

Anyway, I've just updated the pages with 14 more pictures courtesy of Welshwolf. All are slotted in in approximately the right chronological places, so you may have to do a forced refresh on the pages to see them (CTRL-F5) if you've already looked once.

http://www.imprezasport.net/pics/mwr8/

I have full res copies of these if anyone wants them

I've now uploaded the pictures from Paul (trancetopia) too. There were too many of them to integrate, so have done some more pages for them.

Sorry I couldn't make it - this is two now on the trot (note last word).

Had a case of the squits on Monday courtesy of the turkey curry.
Couple of follow-throughs (how embarassing)which would not have been nice whilst sitting in the motor.

Seeing your exploits on the "staircase" reminds me of when I had my Range Rover. Iced hill in front I thought no problem but I ended up sliding backwards. I blame the tyres!!

Some of us just the other side of the bridge will be having a run across Sunday morning. Our plan is to leave Aust and get to the cafe in Abergavenny by around 9.15am if anyone wants to tag along and join us.

Steve.

Right, I've now uploaded some pictures from Stevemur and Chris Garner. Also rejigged things a little to preserve my bandwidth bill, and to make navigation easier.

So the main page, with links to all the images is here:

http://www.imprezasport.net/pics/mwr8/

You should get an introduction page with just the 1 image, and links to the various galleries. If you don't, then refresh the page (Shift-F5)

If anyone is interested in any of the pics that I took, I have hi-res copies of them available (3024x2016) so you can have excellent quality prints at 12x10.

Jessops do the 12x10 for a couple of quid inc delivery.

If you do want any of the original hi-res pics, let me know.

Counting down the minutes till the next run

Hello all.....It was me parked in front of the Gas van, 1 st time on any sort of Scooby run and thoroughly enjoyed the parts that I did. Glad I didn't venture to the 'devils staircase', her indoors would've throttled me if I'd pranged the car before the new year trip to North Walsham. Thanks to everyone for a nice friendly welcome, and of course Chris for the anti-lag pop, bangs and flames!

hope to see you all soon.

cheers
