Can`t a guy do anything on here without everyone knowing
Well i was thinking about it but got on the phone to some experts to seek advice but was given different advice from all of them so decided to put it all on hold.... for now. Many put me off due to it efecting the long term reliability so ended up a little confused with it all.
The car is running so sweet at the moment it seems a shame to bugger it up Have been back on the phone to-day but the person was not in so havent had further question answered.
Now if i could find the right turbo at the right price you never know!!!! thoughts please lads.

we have spies everywhere!!!!!!
I know what you thinking when it comes to turbos, I was going to go down the TD05 route, then Simbs came up so changed mind to VF28, then a bargin popped up on ebay so had that instead. it's a mine field kev but I'd of been very tempted with this APS unit if it was around when I was looking.
Have you spoken to David at API regarding this, he's very clued up on what works and what doesn't.
I've heard nothing but good reports on the APS stuff, this seems a pretty good upgrade for the TD04 you have, you just need to get a decent price, he's open to offers!!!!!

Yes , i have spoken to david, suggested either the vf28 or the aps s/r30 but not to pay more for the aps unit as its no better than the vf28.
My other concern was spool up... the little TD04 does spool up nice and early since the TEC 3 was done and is very drivable at normal rpm`s i dont want to ruin this for the sake of a few bhp at the top end where it dosnt get used so much.
Dan do you find that you get a little more lag?

Kev, I'm hardly noticing lag even with the front mount, the remap seemed to of sorted that out, comes on about 200 Rpm later than the Td04 but when boost does come in everything goes a little blurrey!!!!!! the power in the mid range is fantstic and it's holding good power all the way to the red line in 3rd and 4th.
Trust me, it's well worth doing. Price wise, I picked up a 60-70K Vf28 for £125 on ebay most seem to be going for the around the £200-250 for a 40-50K on here, I don't think you'll get the APS for this sort of money, but it has got very low mileage

I've got a VF34 on mine, with andy f tek3 remap, makes 1 bar by 2900rpm and full boost of 1.35bar not long after, the power between 4000-6500rpm is great, right where u need the power when pushing the car hard.
I paid £470 for the turbo brand new including shipping from Gruppe-s, bargin.

Kev, what happened to never getting back onto the rollercoaster.
I bet he's won the lottery, because he's had brakes, turbo and the headers which won't be long.
I'll bet £10 that this time next year he'll either have a 2.5L transplant or an EVO.
Am I close Kev.
