Could get yourself onto the range and cheer Chris Garner on at Dixies. Car's going through at 2 mins to 2.

Also running tomorrow, starts at 9 with the classics.

Today - watching Man U beat the Chelsea Rent Boys in 25 mins, then picking up my son.

Tomorrow - Dropping boy back to his Mum's then going on an "all-dayer" at the Plough & Harrow in Monknash.

Monday - Go for an all-day breakfast and a "spirited" drive.

Now that sounds like a good idea, we could all check out our wet weather tyres (being a b/holiday),.

Chris, Linksys WAG354g is what I use for teleworkers and myself in Cardiff and down south. £55 ish on Amazon. 4 port ethernet and wireless with good security.

Rich sounds like a good weekend planned!

I'm gardening today then going to Pompy to the Dogs tonight then down the new forest Sunday and waterskiing Monday.

Might even squeeze a wash and wax in and a blast in the scoob.

Drove from Soton to Bridgewater last weekend along the A303 and then A roads up from Yeovil. What a blast! Roads around SW are lacking I think.

Have a good one guys.

I've got a Netgear DG834G - great bit of kit. Wireless access point plus 4 standard RJ45 sockets.

Built in firewall, Access Control List (by MAC address) WEP or WPA SPK security, etc. etc.

You can also configure website restrictions (even time schedules) in case you want to restrict access to sites for certain people (eg. the kids).

Let me know if you get one and need a hand setting it up - it'll give me an opportunity to return a favour :-)

I got some Meguairs Detailing Clay, Optimum Car Wax and a Poorboys Mega Plush Towel.

Just want to give it a good clean with the clay, then i'll give it a couple of coats of polish (Auto Glym Super Resin), then a couple of coats of the Optimum Car Wax, thats the max he recommend's for silver cars, supposed to give a nice deep wet look shine.

Yours is Blue isn't it?? For that colour i think he reccomends the Blackfire stuff, check out this thread with the P1:

Actually gardening this weekend so a round about, Scooby related answer to the thread!!

Tried out the Meguiar's stuff last weekend, very impressed with the results, hopefully the pics do justice to the result!

Used to use Zymol Auto Wash followed by Zymol Cleaner Wax so very surprised by the massive improvement Meguiar's made.

Followed the instructions on their website and used the 3 Step process:

Wash - still used the Zymol Auto Wash for this step! Yes 2 buckets and 3 sponges, top (roof/bonnet to mid door level), bottom (mucky bits), wheels (wheel arches, under sills, ooh and the Wheels).

Dry the car - after watching 5th gear (and the 5K car wash!) I decided to try a Meg's Water Magnet Drying Towel - it is superb, drying quicker and to a better finish than an equally expensive chamois.

Then used the following process:

1. Quik Clay detailing system - to remove the bonded contaminants from the pait - I was surprised how rough the paint felt in patches despite numerous polishes with Autoglym and Zymol which apparently do not remove this kind of mark.

2. Meg's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner - amazing how much debris this removed from the car even after a very thorough wash/clay detail. The paintwork felt so smooth after just this application and many minor swirls were easily removed.

3. Meg's Deep Crystal Polish - very easy to apply and remove (mind you polishing the entire sccob twice on one day was more tiring than I expected!), left a very deep shine - like a mirror surface, you can actually look into the paintwork, much deeper and clearer reflections.

4. Meg's Deep Crystal Carnuba Wax - really very tired and just a little bored by now but I wanted to see the finished result. Again super easy to apply and remove, no white residue at all. Locked in the finish nicely.

All the above were applied with soft polishing cloth and removed with the Supreme Shine Microfibe which I think really added to the result - so easy to remove the cleaner/polish and wax - it was like you could see the shine going in.

5. Triple duty detail brush to finish - the scoob seems to have a lot of shut line gaps for stuff to get caught in!

6. Windows - but here I have still yet to find a better product than Autoglym window cleaner.

Didn't need to use the Scoob this week so she was still looking as good today, so this afternoon, while gardening (my weekend activity to answer the thread!)I sat back with a beer and admired a job well done! Even under the strip lighting in the garage the finish looks awesome - and that is usually when the minor scrathes and swirls show up.

Anyway here are the pics judge for yourself:

Before - after Zymol Cleaner Wax

After - Meg's 3 step, notice the deeper shine and greater reflection in the paintwork (eg you can actually see the reflection of the house/blocks on the drive).

A close up to show just how good the reflection/depth is!

There is something slightly bonkers about spending so much time cleaning a car that will only get dirty again so why is it so damn rewarding!!

Cheers,

Mark
