Hi guys

Quick question,a friend of mine has just bought a 55 plate WRX the person he bought it off changed the whole exhaust system ( back, centre and downpipe ) The thing i was concered about is the engine management light is on ,as far as i know these are the only things that have been changed.

Is this supposed to be on or is there a problem ?

Cheers

Well its not meant to be on so tell him to get it checked out ASAP. It could just be one of the sensors has not been spoofed properly and the ECU can now see it not reading therefore a fault. Or it could be worse. I hope not. Warranty????

If the down pipe has been changed to a decat one the check light will come on unless you do the cell fix or a remap.

[ Whats a cell fix Kev ?[/quote]

I'l do my best to explain

With the cat removed a sensor tells the engine management thats somethings wrong (NO cat) so throws up the check light, the sell fix is a resistor that fools the ecu into thinking that all is ok, light stays out.
Do a search loads on here about it
