Lightbulb Help Needed spending money on new wheels

I knew that would get some attention. As I seem to have a season ticket on the roller coaster this month...

1st the boring bit. I have in my possession some new Brembos. Dilemma is that my WRX wheels will not go over the front Brembo calipers due to offset being too low. The spacers required would have to be 10mm and I'm not happy with ones over 6mm for safety reasons. Neither is my Paymaster General. So I offered her the 3 possibilities. Put the old ones back on and upset the new owner of my 4 pots (or offer him the Brembos). Sorry but no . Put 10mm spacers on. Or new wheels. Oh just get new wheels she said. Well I nearly fell off my horse. Better to be safe she said.

So over to you lot. I need some suggestions on what to get. I have a WRX new age in WR Blue just so you know what to match it with.

Criteria: Have to go over a set of Brembos. Have to be gold.
Prefer 17" for ride and spare but will accept valid reasons for 18's. Not too many spokes for cleaning purposes and looks. Will go for excellent condition 2nd hand and will look at Wheel tyre combos but have to be able to choose tyres at least Toyo T1R's or F1's. Links and pics or prices appreciated.

Cheers,

Gazz.

Hi Gaz,

Here's a couple of options for you
  1. PFF7's (always a crowd pleaser)
  2. Rota GRA's (nice, slighty cheaper alternatives to OZ's)
  3. A nice set of Ultralites (WP-789-A-TEC or ES-941-SPEC)
  4. Sell me your Brembo's at a 'cut-your-losses' rate

or 18" ROTA GRA's from Rarerims.co.uk £380 wheels only.

or With Toyo's T1R 215/35/18 or T1R 225/40/18 it will be £760.]

What tyre though as I really fancied GSD3 F1's £350 from performancetyresdirect.co.uk.

Best sizes on 18" is???

Gazz for your car you should look at getting 225/40/18 as the 215/35/18 are classic fitment.

Oh no! Glad the guy in the shop knew what I needed.... .

Bought some braided hoses from ASP as well today for while I am under there and some 5.1 fluid since I am bleeding them anyway.

Where does it all end? Just there for now I'm skint! And under orders.

All that is left on the list for this year is silver bulbs, detango, a panel filter and a secs unit. I think!

wow the price of the Mille miglia T12 (Last set of wheels) is bloody good, I paid £850 for 17" 2 years ago, Shame they won't fit over Brembo's or I would of been tempted with those, saying that I had to use spacers to fit over 4 pots but a fantastic wheel

Good news is the Rota GRA's turned up early this morning.
Rarerims.co.uk Top service. as to TNT.

Bad news is the goodridge hoses from ASP have been taken to Plymouth! by Business post. I have never had a parcel delivered by them correctly. About 40+ now. THey are ****. ASP straight on the case though. Good job Alyn.

So wheels are looking good in the house tonight. Hoses on tomorrow eve should they turn up.

Where are the axle stand points BTW on a new age?

So Ian in answer to your question: Tomorrow night or Friday Morning Sir.

Anyone fancy a drive early Friday up to PS?

Just the alignment Rich if I have time before I go away since there are bigger and diferent wheels it needs it. Seen this line before but "you cannot get a *** paper between the caliper and the wheel!".

How do they look? Disks have been on a week so hence the surface rust.

Once the hoses are on I'll clean them all up and give the car a coat of sealant.
