Chris I'm not sure if your's will be the same inner handbrake diameter

I may have to give Godspeed a call or is anyone driving past the door at some point that could drop in and grab an old rusty one ?

Basically I need it for the inner diameter... I know the dimensions but would really prefer to have an actual part on the bench to work around.

Si, you thinking of doing a brembo conversion?
Just guessing thats why you want the internal diameter, to mod a set of newage STI disc's to suit. If so i'll be very interested in what you come up with, coz i'm gonna be trying this at some point soon.

Shhhh

Yes indeed.... I've got the dimensions off a thread in the brakes section but I could really do with a disc to work with as well, I've not got any brembo's yet Dean.... I'm in the educating and planning stages lots to learn here still about what's needed but I'll make sure I list everything down as I go.

I'm looking into making the brackets at the moment, i've got the drawing off Rentonone's and Scott.T's thread's

https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...d-brembos.html

But want to make them like the one Dyney is having made, not paying £160 for them though:
https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...onversion.html

Just need to work out what the distance between the two red lines is:

What does that distance represent Dean... will not making the bracket to this spec be sufficiant ?

Dean see on the above pic there is a solid "washer" between the caliper and the bracket where as on the pic below they are loose washers built up.... I'm going to try an establish what that distance would be as I would prefer the solid option.

That's the ones like Rentonone made, i'm just not sure about the the spacers between the brackets and caliper and the bracket and hub.
The other ones that Dyney had made look like they would be more sterdy, plus the bottom holes could be taped to an M10 thread and bolt straight on.

When i get chance i'm gonna have a go at making some coz i have access to a milling machine in work. Need to find some Ally about 25mm thick.

From what i read in the thread the washers were only temporary to calculate the size of the spacer needed.

I think I see now... Dyney's look to be milled so you effictively do not need to use the extra washer/spacer ?

Do you mean change the whole hub? that the caliper bolts to.
If so it's not that simple unfortunatly.

Just realized u probably mean to make the bracket, that would be easier, i'll have to pop down ACE and see if he's got an old hub i can borrow.

That's it Dean... sorry not as clear as I could have been something that we can use as referance to mock the bracket onto.... it will save a lot of time back and fore the car with one sat on the work bench.

Very true, i was planning on doing the basic shape, drilling the holes etc, then putting up to my hub to mark the shape on then taking it back to machine the shape out.

Si, have you got any ally suitable to make the brackets out of?
If not we could always order a lenght of ally bar between us and split the cost, had a look in the RS catolgue today and it would be roughtly £38, but probably could be found cheaper.

My mate (clive) suggests using steel rather than ally, he is concerned that the ally may give a little under pressure. I know some people may say about the weight difference but eat one less kit kat a week and that should even it out Let me see what I can find in work Dean before you go buying anything.... I've not had chance to going scavenging yet but I will next week

Got mine from Alyn (Stockcar) at ASP performance. They can do different colours for the sheath Si but clear on braid original will be better for MOTs.

What did you get after Si? Must admit that on Sunday morning they saved my *** three times and Mike's rear bumper twice!

And since the fluid change I am even more happy with them although cold braking can be a bit of a wake up call.
