If someone told me I could earn £600+ for a mornings work, I'd be dropping whatever job I had at the time to talk to the organiser who was stood in his reception. But he was too busy to give kev 5 minutes of his time!!!

If he can't be bothered to talk to kev I can't be bothered to give him my money!!!! So **** him

Have spoken to Westec today and said that someone from the club had spoken to them before about a booking and not been rung back , he did apologise for this . Anyway cost is £35 per car with the vat and the dates available are 26/11 or 3/12 or 10/12 and these are all on sunday's .
So if you are interested then put your username down along with the date you prefer , the most popular date will get booked . £10 desposits will be required and paid by paypal direct to westec .

As I've said before, no thanks

Ps: Thats £5 more than we have ever paid anywhere else!!!!!

Not doing himself any favours, the idea of a rolling road day is to get it cheaper rather than paying the same if you where to turn up on a normal day.

Spoke to Westec again and the pricing structure is £35 inc vat per car up to 20 cars and £30 for between 20 to 30 cars , as of the last count there was about 16 cars .
Also searched about and that is about the closest 4wd set of rollers around here

Gotta Agree With Danny Boy and while every one has theyre own opinions formed by varying experiences when i went down there last time with another owners group recently i wasnt impressed in the slightest in how they worked, id rather pay for a tank of fuel and drive to Powerstation and have it done properly in their cell and pay them.

As for the closest hopefully once andy in ace sorts himself with nice new premises i should imagine a set of rollers will arrive there for us to use

Powerstation have a very perfessional set up with regards to the rolling road day, apart from no free tea and coffee. Their dyno cell is one of the best in the country.

But we've used them in the early part of the year and I for one would like to have a comparison from another dyno.

Some of the guys used G force in the past and again were very pleased with the set up, which included multiple runs in the price. G force are no more but have reopened under a new name. have a look here. only an hour and a bit up the motorway. Which is good to get the car up to temps

D S Automotive

There is another good one at solihul which isn't that far either.

You can by all means arrange something with westec but I reakon the concensus might be to dump it and go with another company.

Just checked on postcode for that place and it's a 380 mile round trip for those of us by carmarthen area . So a bit far to go for just a power run , is there anywhere closer ?

Hyeline in Cardiff, I've heard loads of good feedback back from happy customers which were thrilled to bits with the service and competitive prices they offer!.

i'd check how accurate their rollers are in westec, a mate i work with took his bora 150 diesel to them to have it mapped and they said it was 195bhp on the rollers, he had it done a few weeks later at a rally tuning guy in Abercynon and it only made 167bhp

Tried Hyeline in cardiff and their rollers aren't in use until xmas or new year time .
As for roller calibration , how do you know that the place in Abercynon's rollers are accurate ? unless they have to be calibrated yearly etc and have a certificate of calibration to show .
Any other places this side of the bridge thats any good ?

Have spoken to Westec today to ask about their rollers and was told that the daztec rollers that they use are the only rollers that Andy F will use .
Also for a sunday run on the 26/11 min of 10 cars , so if anyone wants to use westec on that date please add your name to the list , if 10 cars not reached he said that he could do a sat afternoon .

Hi Guys,

Just thought i'd catch up with this thread. Firstly Kev i'm sorry I didn't get to speak to you that day, when my receptionist came into the workshop to tell me there was someone interested in booking a day, she didn't actually say you were in reception, I thought it was a phonecall. It was only when I asked for the contact details she told me that you had actually been in. So I apologise for that, I certainly am not that rude and if I had realised you were there and made the effort to come and see me, I would have certainly made the effort to see you.

I would like to offer you guys runs @ £30 each, this includes 2 back to back runs with torque and bhp graphs.

If you want to run under 10 I will keep the price the same as a goodwill gesture, normal straight power runs retail @ £45+VAT. But I would have to limit the date to the Saturday. If there are quite a few people interested then by all means we can go on the Sunday, if this is too early to get a good group of you together, then we can always choose a later date if that suits?

Kind regards,

Grant Wesgate
