Pro-Speed exhaust are better than longlife if you want to go down the custom route, the guy who runs it Charlie trained the longlife boys.
But there are plantly of good aftermarket exhaust out there, with various different volumes.
Miltek are popular and not too loud
Blitz do the NUR (quite loud) and NUR Spec R (louder)
or if you want really really loud then there's 5zigen

Have the UK cars got equal length headers the same as the imports ?
You may not be able to get quite the sound of the older cars if that is the case.... (Rob) pippyrips may be able to give some good advice on this one as I think he is looking at the system on his car at the moment.

Calling Rob where are you matey

No only JDM imports have equal lenght headers. So a decent exhaust should release the burble. Has pippyrips sold his Miltek yet??

If your going to be at the meet next week you can have a listen to mine, its on an 06 WRX but sound wise will do the same for your Sti as it did for mine. Its a Magnex system by the way.

Magnex only do one system for the impreza as far as i am aware, its stainless steel with lifetime warranty same as longlife. Are longlife building the system for you or putting the pre-built one on for you?

When are you having it done, the only reason i ask is because there is another company in city road (old longlife premises) Z-Ex, that do the same job. Iv used both companies in the past, both are good, and found that if you get a good price off one the other will try to match it, could save you a few quid!

Dont know what an STI will sound like but I guess the headers on a 2.0l R sport are equal now to make it more efficient as the power from old sport to new age is upped to 160 from 125
But you aint going to get much smaller than this

4" round tail piece with 4" box
