Should be ok, what they tell you about having to be dealer serviced to keep warranty is rubbish from what i've been told.
As long as you use a VAT registered garage and they use genuine subaru parts then your ok.

I had a bad experience with CVC so I take mine to Powerstation for any work or servicing now.

I made a comment on SN about them which they read and really took to heart. The way they 'discussed' it with me was totally unprofessional and out of order so I refuse to go back (and am probably not welcome anyway).

Personally I'd go to Powerstation, although they aren't much cheaper on the labour, or try Ace Motorsport who have been getting good press on here.

When looking for my first scoob i Phoned CVC 3 times for brouchures and never got one, i even went down to thier new place by ikea and they never even come out of thier office to see if i needed any help( So if i need any extras i will go to CVC and take any parts off the scoobs on show as i know i will not see anyone!!!). SO I BOUGHT A JDM STI OFF LITCHO'S.

Went for a test drive of a spec d at Keith Price and they were realy nice.

So when my baby does come i will be going to KP or ACE(as they have had good press and they are local)

Just had 2 year service at cvc , gave me a lift to cardiff while the car was being done , came and collected me on time , reported the car had a couple of items needing to be done under warranty and also said they'd fit prodrive springs for me while they was doing the work ,so only have to pay for springs!
In tomorrow for the work and also have a loan car while it's in . Can't really want for more so my mates going to cvc as well with his .

KP for me - this question pops up fairly regularly, and its the same story, there are SN members who have had either excellent or poor service at both dealers, so each dealer will have its supporters as well as customers who will never go back.

In the last 8 years I've had 5 scoobs from KP, each one serviced 3 times a year - that wouldn't be the case if they didn't look after me/provide good service.

As above Keith Price do provide good service and in my experience are cheaper than CVC, but that said, I havn't had any issues with CVC and i have only had the car serviced once with each garage. Keith Price are not as busy as CVC though so you will get in sooner and you are more likely to get a car to run round in when they have yours.

I've heard the same.
There aren't many garages that will work on the car for over an hour and a half, replacing parts where required on two separate days for no charge - cheers ACE

i work for a main dealer and as far as the warranty, aslong as the vehicle is serviced by a v.a.t registered garage using genuine parts the warranty is still valid

CVC have always been good with me. They are getting better now and have a bigger service area in Hadfield Road.

Slightly off track but I phoned around for a service on my wifes old SEAT TDi and saved £60 by going to Swansea, the Cardiff dealer was the most expensive, then Caldicot then Swansea.

Phone around get a quote then ask for feedback, as they say "manners maketh the man". If you get no good vibes or feedback take your hard earned readies to some one who deserves them.

I used KP for the servicing on my Sport Classic and while i could not knock the quality of the work littles things let me down, i paid 550 quid for a service including belts and yet no one thought it would be a nice touch to wash the car. As for CVC i tried to get hold of service department regarding prices for standard disc's and pads today as well as any potential prodrive upgrades (eyes up rigpigs caliper set ) and i got bounced from person to person and then hung up on. thankfully on further attempts they did manage to ring me back only to say the only upgrade available is the £1500 quid P1 upgrade

I may be wrong and it wouldnt be the first time but when i have visited both dealers they seem to offer amazing service to new age cars but yet give the impression that they want to distance themselves from the classics.

In that case Votes for ACE motorsport all the way, great service and decent prices (and they washed my car twice, once each day they had it )

Thanks

Ian

Default Tricks of the Trade.

The Trick: you buy a new car and the dealer says if you don't
get it serviced where you bought it,you'll invalidate the warranty.
The Truth: it used to be the case that warranties only covered
the work of franchised dealers, but the rules have changed now,
opening up competition.that means you no longer have to pay big official dealer prices to get your car tended to and you can go
to a cheaper independent garages.
all you have to do to ensure your warranty is valid is make sure
the garage you choose uses parts APPROVED by the MANUFACTURER

regards chris g.

just book in with the dealer tell them your problem and they should sort it out without any problems, thats all they will ask for is proof of services.(stamp or invoice)
