The car is currently declared as being off the road.
If i were to tax it tomorrow, would they backdate it to beginning of January and i'd lose a months tax ?
Or as its the end of the month, would they start it from beginning of Feb ?

Backdate it to beginning of January. Better of waiting until the 1st of feb if you can.

just a thought, how about taxin it online, u won't have a disc in time but it will be registered as taxed. u may be able to do it a bit earlier.
