Key Coding
I have a 1996 Ford Escort 1.8TD that Im planning to use a runaround.
I have just got a set of keys cut for it but I was wondering if anybody knows somebody that can come round and code the keys to the immobiliser. The original keys were lost so car cant be moved.
If anybody can help it would be much appreciated.

Ewan,
If the car is at Saints..You can try Peak Performance on Llandow Industrial estate,Ex MT Fitter (Mates/forces rates)
Very good by all accounts,Also the ford dealers up there might be able to help you out, though I would have thought they will charge the Earth.

If not you can not programme the new keys to the car, you would have to get a new master programmed first. Ford keys have a Texas chip which are self learning.
Best bet would be to bypass it all together

I dont hve the red key. went to ford with the code for a new key( off the inside door lock). They would reprogramme it for me but I have no idea how to get the car there in the 1st place (for sensible money that is!).
