technically you loose your Subaru warranty with anyone. Bob put a dual map on mine - 1 high boost, 1 low boost. He maybe able to set one on your car as the standard map so you can put it back to 'normal' for servicing etc
Still a risk though.
Having driven the same car mapped by both parties i would go to bob - cant speak on behalf of Andy but others here can

Just found out from Andy at ACE (he picked his up this morning) that the difference between MY06 and MY07 Uk spec cars is that the MY07 gets a TWIN SCROLL turbo like the jap models.
Apparantly Prodrive are having a little trouble with the ECU map for the PPP.

Are you sure that's correct? I can't a twin scroll being bolted just out of the blue like that.

Was the first i'd heard of a UK spec being twin scroll, but does make sense as to why the PPP would be different to the MY06.

Well the guy who runs ACE Motorsport has just picked up his new Euro import (UK spec) STI this morning and apparantly it's a twin scroll, i assume he had a look under the bonnet to check and should no the difference being an ex-prodrive mechanic.

The added cost of the new turbo, twin scroll manifold, up and down pipe just wouldn't make economic sense IMO.
Being a Euro spec car I would assume it's running the VF39 single scroll.

Not that I'm trying to argue with you but I just can't see it somehow. Why would Subaru wait until now to bolt a twin scroll on when the car is nearly at the end of its life?

I have no idea myself, haven't been able to find any info to tell on the net, doesn't say in the spec what turbo they run.

Not sure how you can tell if it is a twin scroll visually, could have a look what it says on the turbo housing and see if it is a VF39
or something else.
I think the twinscroll cars have VF37's

Don't think you have to remove any covers, should be on the front of the turbo housing near where the hose goes off to the intercooler, should say "IHI" in big letters, then have the model and serial number stamped somewhere near there.
If you take a pic of the turbo someone might be able to tell if it's a twinscroll just by looking at it.

JDM STI's have the VF37, Spec C's have the VF36 (roller bearing version of the VF37).
If you can manage to see the up-pipe this will tell whether it is a twin scroll unit as it will have two pipes instead of a single one entering the exhaust housing of the turbo.

Still not clear as to weather the MY07 is twinscroll or not, spoke to Andy and this is just what he has been told and hasn't even look under his bonner yet.
But apparantly the reason the PPP hasn't been released yet is because they are having problems with the "fly by wire" throttle, with the PPP map the first 9% of the throttle movement does nothing.

not too sure they are twin-scroll - Andy's not too worried either way as there is a millteck single-scroll downpipe for sales on here
