Default FAO of WRX RCY

quick question about fitting the Teins,
Is there supposed to be some sort of clip or somthing to close the bracket that holds the brake lines at the bottom of each strut??

or do you just squeeze the ends together??

says nothing about it at all in the manual i downloaded and the one that came with the shocks is in japanese.
My EDFC is coming Monday so hoping to get these on the car ASAP

You do need the clips but they don't come with the Teins, our clips were already on the car but we did have the cuscos on then.

Do you not have some on the orginals?

If you need a hand fitting, give me a shout.

The brackets on the orignal shocks are not open ended, they are one solid piece, to get the brake line out you have to disconnect it from the caliper, or cut the bracket and bend it.

Wonder how they expect you to fit them if they don't supply them as part of the kit .

I'll have to get onto Tein on Monday or see if Andy at ACE has any ideas.
Thanks for the offer might well give you a call

Isn't there a retaining clip on the shocks at the moment?

Not from what i remember, sure it's just a solid bracket on the bottom of the shock on the standard setup. I remember they can't be unclipped, coz we had to dissconnect the brakes when fitting my lowering springs, pain in the **** coz you have to bleed them after then.

Just fitted Tein's on mine, didn't use any clips and as the kit didn't come with any, assume you don't need them. As you say, standard ones are closed so had to disconnect the brake line and bleed them once finished. No problem though, straight forward enough.
Taylor.

The standard ones are a closed loop with the brake line down the middle but they have a sliding bracket the snaps around the brake line and stops things from moving. I'm sure they wouldn't cost much from CVC

Not yet mate, was thinking of fitting them today but the coilovers took too long.
It's book in for the 28th now for the Clutch, Flywheel, 6 speed box and a full service. Then when i get it back hopefully i'll find time to fit the Brembo's, EDFC controller and the AVCR, then it's all finished
