Did some research on GEMS, on here and on 22B and found lots of people that had them weren't happy with the way the car drove with GEMS and lots with cold start issue's, apparantly the Simtek is a lot more advanced than the GEMS.
The Simtek has full duel mapping , which the GEMS doesn't and is supposed to have much better boost control, meaning i could loose my Apexi AVCR.
JGM offer us a good price on the Simtek as part of a GB so for what it would of cost me to have the GEMS fitted and mapped on top of the purchase cost think it only worked out £50 more expensive for me (this includes selling my AVCR as this was not need for the Simtek)

BTW don't think Bob R does GEMS.

What was the GB price?

Might be worth starting another early next year.
