Hi guys, already posted on the main forum but thought you Welsh guys might know too. My 05 Impreza WRX has 35k miles. When I start it in the mornings and leave it ticking over it sounds really rough and a bit "tappety" (if that makes sense) but once it's warm it sounds normal. It reminds me of a crapy astra I had years ago.
Is this normal for an Impreza or could I have a problem?

when i bought my car i was told its tappy when cold he told me its because the oil is synthetic and doesnt start working properly until its warm i just took his word for it as i havent a clue.

i thought my 04 plate wrx didnt sound right ,took it to powerstation at tewkesbury they said it was fine. It seems these arent the quietest engines.

yeh mines the same, sounds like my old fiesta when cold but sound when warm thought it was just mine.

ur cars are slappers. piston slap is common when cold on scoobs.
