Default should i be worried

sometimes i get a flame thrown out of the exhaust would the paint work get damaged on the bumper should i get a heat shield

I wouldn't worry, the heat passes over so quick it shouldn't damage the paint. Your more likely to sustain damage from the exhaust getting hot with prolonged use, ie trackday, than you are from a flame.

No don't bother. As Taylor said,it comes and goes so quickly that it wont damage your paintwork

We were following Danny to Powerstation a few weeks back and his was spitting flames out Its the other drivers faces you need to watch

Mine has been spitting flames for years. It's never marked the paintwork or caused any problems apart from making the exhaust really black
