Need to buy 4 new ones for the Scooby for 225/45/17's
Was looking at the Pilot Sport ones from costco as 20% off when you buy 4 which i think only works out about £320 fitted. But have found 4 x T1R's for £250 delivered (can get them all fitted for £20) which i think is excellent.
Anyone recommend places to ring in Cardiff area just to see if they can match cheap prices?

Thats a very good price on the pilot sports, I'd have them anyday over the toyo's, I wouldn't put them on my wheel barrow!!!!!
I found the toyo's were very slow to scrub in, took nearly 2000 miles before the greasy feel went out of them. They didn't like standing water and they wore out 7.000 miles earlier than the set of goodyear F1's I had before
I had Dunlop sp sport Maxx's fitted in November, £368 for 4 x 215.40.17 Kwikfit price promise my tyres.

I used to run Kumho KU31s on my Evo 8, good prices available if you look.
very underated tyre with very good driver feed back these tyres held on right to the ragged edge wet or dry after scrubbing in. listened to all the storys re tyres and tried just about all the top brands, unless you are planning serious track days you wont go far wrong with these
If you are looking for very good road legal trackday tyre try Kumho V70a

Atlas Tyres in Cathays are pretty cheap and they use hand-torque wrenches on the wheel nuts, so no stripping the alloys with chunky pneumatics.
One word of caution, if your car is lowered and you have a front splitter, you may struggle to get into the bay from the road, due to a big dip in the road/pavement.

Well i went to costco for the pilot sports - unfortunately offer ran out day before
And at £103 each, although cheap is currently out of budget. Been spending a lot of time looking at reviews etc and for my budget come up with a few contenders
Kumho KU31's - £225 for 4 delivered so £245 fitted
Falken FK452 - £291 fitted
Toyo CF1's - £294 fitted
Toyo T1R's - £268 fitted
Avon ZV5 - £310 fitted
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta - £340 fitted
Eagle F1 GSD3 -£343 fitted
Yokohama S306 - £293 fitted
The Kumho's seem to get some really good reviews but suppose im a bit of a badge snob and thinking you do get what you pay for. Car is only driven on public roads so trackdays etc and taking car to limits doesnt bother me just want good tyres for spirited driving. Of those any input?

Ouch! couple of places - i know a friend in a garage that will fit tyres £10 per axle inc balancing etc. They £62 each at tyretraders delivered or £76 each fitted
They also only £68 each delivered from camskill.
How do you rate the T1R's? i know a few people who love them but also a few who don't like the life on them

I have just put a set of 4 Falken 18" FK452's on my car and they are a much better tyre than the Bridgestone 17" RE070's that I had fitted to my old rims, I paid £276 fully inclusive through a friend.
Cracking tyres would recommend them to anybody.

I like the T1R's as I am used to the grip level. I need to get some 18"'s for my PPF's, what are tyretraders like at fitting? I don't want the alloys ruined before they see the car!

through tyretraders you get them fitted at a local garage - you put in post code and they show you the nearest garages - they have a few by me in Barry plus a load in Cardiff so they should have one close by to you.
