Default Technical Advice Please - Boost Problems!

Hi all....please diagnose me......!!
Went for an overtake on Sunday ...... as I pulled out and floored it was fine until I hit boost, at which point the car stuttered and dreaded check engine light came on and car hit limp mode. Restarted and it cleared and seemed fine but obviously I didnt then push it. Drove back to Cardiff from Hereford out of boost then, but had a lil play when I got back and all seemed fine. Yesterday put my old MAF back on (I have recently put standard airbox and a new MAF on and thought it might be related - I have reset the ECU between taking off induction kit and fitting the box) and it was driving fine again but then had a stutter on boost again last night with no engine lights.
Have no confidence in the car at the moment for obvious reasons......
There arent any obvious noises apart from a loud solenoid which I've always had! HELP!!!
Cheers, Dan.

any pipes got a split in them ? are you hitting the fuel cut and over boosting ? could the maf be on its way out ?
try putting it back the way you had it and see if it still happens or try getting a fault code reader and look on jolly green monsters web site as he got the fault codes listed on there hope this helps

Check all the air pipes are not split, off or full of oil,if they seem good, sounds like MAF sensor to me.maf sensor does play up without bringing on the engine light sumtimes. If its a classic keep the original air box, induction kits cause maf sensor failure all the time on 99-00 models.

Hi guys, sorry its been a while but have been driving europe in my friends 95 sti wagon (with only 35K on the clock!!)... covered spa francorchamps, nurburgring, lichtenstein and the stelvio pass.....and the car didnt miss a beat apart from around 80km from home the rear quater window flew out on the motorway...!!!

back on topic still need ur help please.....
a while back decided to put my car back to a standard airbox.... but this created almost an overboosting problem under hard acceleration where the car just jolted and then gets an engine warning light and wont go into boost.
took it to ace motorsport who changed a turbo inlet pipe thinking it was leaking and overboosting the turbo.... was fine for a while but then same thing started happening....
i put the induction kit back on thinking this would solve the problem as it wasnt happening before this was removed.... but no.... it has definately reduced the occurances of it but its definately not right and i currently have no confidence in the car under hard acceleration.
could it be a faulty recirc dv? have changed maf but didnt make a difference.....
also randomly get a check engine light at traffic lights... but a throttle blip clears it.... last time ace checked the ecu they saw a throttle position sensor error.... could this be causing the above problem?! If so is this something that is easy enough to fix?

PLEASE HELP ITS DOING MY HEAD IN!!

Cheers all!!
