I had one of the original shape Beetles, a 1200cc reg number RAX277M and I had some great times in it, it never let me down once.
In my youth I went to all the big VW events in Stoneleigh, Santa Pod and Brighton and even took into onto the drag strip at Santa Pod a couple of times. A took me about a week to do the quarter mile and I could have cycled quicker. Where did my youth go?
It might be that they are trying to refind their youth but if they were driving the new shape Beetle then you just be be happy for them.
They did look lovely though
