hi does anyone know if the engine from a j reg legacy,will fit in to a 96 p plate classic import,and i mean straight in with no modifications to the loom.

The wiring loom will be different, but by switching the inlet manifolds a conversion is possible as the Impreza version 1.5 inlet manifold is compatable with the earlier version 1 DOHC cylinder heads found on the 1992 2 litre legacy turbo.

ok was thinking of putting my heads on anyway will they be suitable?

A Legacy block fitted with your cylinder heads plus inlet manifold will work with no issues.
