Question HIGH POWERED DAILY DRIVER

Right guys,im thinking of a change of car in a couple of months to another Impreza. Maybe a modded Type R. The one im interested in is running 430bhp and 380 lb ft torque with what he describes as a 4 paddle clutch. Any idea what it would be like as a daily driver?

Not much fun if you do a lot of town driving! There basically on or off, no bite point.

Get it bought. I wished I changed to a Type R years ago.

I'm getting used to the Exedy twin plate on mine, which is either on or off. Once you get used to it it's not to bad.

But to be honest it's not hard to Just have the clutch changed to either an AP or ACT uprated organic

Looks very nice but then I would say that as it looks nearly identicle to mine!!!!

White is the fastest colour after all.

With regards to that, there are some nicer ones out there, The engine bay looks a little messy, Pipes going every where, the rad and induction kit looks like they have seen better days. No mention of uprated box only the clutch. Seems a little over priced for a version 3

When I was looking there where two others I was interested in, both were version 5's:

One was with a 2.2 HKS stroker the other was a built 2.5 both had low miles and were around the £7k mark

If you want to feel the biting point of my clutch your more than welcome to give us all a laugh in the car park

Dave at ESP has a Type R for sale at the moment I believe, unsure of the spec but I think it is a 'fresh' import it might be worth a look as he is only in Blackwood.

Or you could have a try of the S202...

looks great for a track car or toy but don't like the thought of it being thrashed the nuts off and having it for a daily driver wonder how long the engine and box would last if it's been used on the track alot
good bhp figures for a 2 ltr with a md321 , bet it has alot of turbo lag as the md321 big turbos like the s and t models are more at home on a 2.2/ 2.5 never the less its a nice car just a bit steep on the wonga
i would look around like danny said as you will find nicer for that price

why don't you just stick a good engine and box in yours ?? or are you just looking for a change ?

Looking for a change to be honest Lee. Cant see the point in spending 1000's on an engine and box in mine when i can more than likely pick one up ready done for less. Im in no rush to buy just having a look whats around. The thing that put me off the one above is the fact it's been tracked. The other thing was it said it was running a Simtek but still had the MAF in. Thought that would have been taken out

So when is the next run up to the Elan Valley?

Lets get a group of us from the Swansea end of the club and go for a little drive, same as before - over the Black Mountains, up to Llandovery, cut off at Beulah, up to Rhyader, over to Devils Bridge, Aberystwyth, Llanrhystud, Llanybydder, Carmarthen.

I am up for this Sunday if there is enough interest.

Come on if its not raining and he can get his day pass Jarvis might even come along.

Could cut accross the Epynt ranges and come out in Tirabad which links on to the Cynghordy road.

We will have to wait for Dylan to sort his box out first.

Looks like i made a school boy error with the oil in the box.

I put ZX1 oil additive in my box and it went down hill from there. DCCD is U/S.

Will you be able to repair the DCCD?
