Default What a trip!

Well I have taken the Scoob on her first big trip which she handled excellently.

1400 miles from Cardiff to Paderborn in Germany, round about a bit then back.

The journey across was "eventful". There's a 24hr Tesco doing 99 about 10 miles from Dover. Take the Brenzett turn off and head for the A20, second exit. Cheaper tan across the Channel and convienient when you come back to

From Gent in Belgium to Paderborn I thought I would need Noah's Ark. The Kennedy Tunnels where flooded and the water was up around the doors but the Scoob did the biz. From Duisberg to Mulheim loads of the autobahn where flooded and I had to, again negotiate some serious flooding and huge puddles. The Germans must of thought I was mad!

The big downside was fuel, 1.40 Euro average for a litre of Super Plus Unleaded I spent "cough" a few bob. That being said the journey back was pretty awesome with some Ultimate 100 in the tank . Did one V Max run and she was still eager at an indicated 145mph, still a few RPMs left to pull too , really annoyed some big German metal.

How many Scoob's did I see whilst I was there, only 2 and they where both on the Army Camp I was staying at. I did start to get paranoid as every time I went out I had German's staring at the car and then and giving me the Thumbs Up.

But it was fun and I had 4 days on the p*ss too.

Glad you had a good trip apart from the dampness 145mph+ is not bad from a 10 year old car

Nice one Ian , I bet some of the BMWs, Audis and Mercs weren't too pleased at having a rice rocket overtake them.

Sounds like you had a great time Ian , shame about the cost of fuel over the water it does mount up when you do a fair few miles.
At least the German beer is value for money

Sounds like you had a good 1 mate, will have to do that kind of trip myself one day. I have been through France a few times in the Scoob and get the same response from the locals, scoobs seem to be rare as hens teeth on the mainland!

I changed the oil and filter before I left. Checked the oil a few times and it was all OK. Checked it again this morning and it's still fine.

The car is ten years old and it's now definetly time to start changing the rubber on the undercarriage, bushes etc.

I may go even further next January to Wolfenbuttel for another reunion It's 350 miles past the Dutch border near thge old Iron Curtain.

Good stuff Ian, i'd love to do a trip like that in the scoob one day, i'll just have to notify the bank manager and Shell first.
