Ahem, who recommended the Zunsport grille?

A Xmas present to yourself I wonder?

Zunsport was the only option after seeing the price of the prodrive ones, the top grilles would be so easy to make if you could match the mesh, the lower one would be more tricky to get a nice fit, hence the purchase, and yeah spending my crimbo cash, but crimbo did come early with the brakes and the V1 monitor, looking forward to the spring now

Pity I didn't know you were after a VI monitor as the one I bought for my Hawkeye but it will not work with the S202 , they are ok but TBH I would rather a PSI3 or Scanguage unit.

Plus even though they will work with ECUTEK'd ECU's if you in the future change to a Simtek, Solaris etc they will not work with an aftermarket ECU.

I know those two words must be hard for you to say let alone type.

It has something to do with the OBDII compliance standards, even though Armor Automotive imply that the VI monitor will work with nearly every vehicle with an OBDII port there are quite a few vehicles that they will not work with. Early newage Bugeyes and Blobeyes both JDM and UK models have had problems.

I contacted Armor Automotive and TBH I would have been better talking to the wall, as far as they were concerned - tough you paid your money and if it does not work then it has nothing to do with us.

You could have had mine for £100 as it is useless to me.

It will plug in and power up but because of the firmware/data transfer standard used and then changed by Subaru (before there was a 'proper' OBDII compliance standard) it will not read any data off the ECU, real time telemetry, fault codes, MPH etc etc.

I could use it as a very large USB memory store but that is about all the use it is to me.

I haven't tried it since I had the S202 remapped (Blue Dragoon has had it for 2 months and it doesn't work on his car either) and I suppose there is a (slim) chance that it might now work but I doubt it.

Tyrone,

I'd like to try it if I can. If I can get it to work in something I'll have it.

No problem Kev, as soon as I can get it back from Ian you can give it a whirl.

I am now going for an Ecutek Easy Ecu (it runs on a laptop/netbook), it allows for all the features of Deltadash (real time monitoring of all systems, proper dyno runs, fault reading etc etc) plus with the added bonus of Bob Rawle can send me new maps that he writes for my car which I can upload to the ECU myself without having to take the car up to Swindon.

Thats great.

The Easy ECU sounds interesting, I'll have a good look at that when your up and running.
