I take it that this is for the benefit of Terry & June next door, who gave me dagger looks for daring to drive down the lane beside your house?

As long as your car passes the MOT test that is all that matters in law but if you want to fit a bung don't forget you may well have to drill a hole(s) in the tail pipe in order for the retaining screws for the bung?

Anyway I know what my decision would be, and it would not endear me to your neighbours.

Yep they're the one's Ty, also got a couple of little ones moved in over the road and I know that the car wakes ours up sometimes, especially when out at 11 pm to pick up the Teenanger !!!

My previous BB did have a hole to secure a bung - but I'll have to get the drill out of hibernation - think it's in the Shedcave !!

Have you seen one fitted Ty, do they sit flush with the tailpipe or go as far back as they can, I'm sure the hole drilled in my old one was very close to the edge.

The bung will sit very close to the end of the tail pipe, it will reduce the noise but not a massive amount and when your car is mapped I would ask Bob to take this into account as it will make a difference to performance.

You might be better off seeing if you can get hold of a HKS silent exhaust silencer, I think I saw one for sale on here recently.

I read a bit about Performance losses, was thinking to only use the Bung very occassionally mostly would be "As is".

Think I'll see if I can temp secure it in, to see if it has any benefit to the "Start Up's"

I'd stick 2 small holes in the tailpipe with 2 nuts and bolts to hold the bung in. You can take it out whenever you fancy then

I have the same problem with my neighbours, but do i moan when they are mowing the lawn at silly o clock on sunday mornings, i call it payback .
The bung does fit flush to tailpipe, most use one bolt to secure but two will stop it rattling.

Park mine on your drive for a week or two. They'll soon beg for you to have your car back. Then tell them to stop moaning.

I had a blitz NUR spec R on my old WRX with an afterburner center secion and a decat. I absolutely loved the noise it made.

Where I lived at the time most of the neighbours used to keep dogs many of which barked all hours.

One particular guy had a dog that barking permanently from 4 till half ten day in day out.

I used to start my car then roll down the hill till I was outside his house and let the car warm up. At 6am or earlier. **** em. Dont fit a bung if they dont respect your peace and quiet.

Its really quiet where I live now so . . I'll stick with my prodrive backbox and whatever is on the car

Thanks Guy's - I'm glad I'm not the only one with dismal neighbours I'll give the bung I've got a go but if not much use, then I'll stay as I am I think I'm getting too considerate in my old age

To avoid any performance losses just use it on start up,drive slowly down the road then remove it. My brother-in-law does it with his Skyline. Or just tell the neighbours to shut up and stop moaning like i did

Not really, if at all. I got them as I didn't want to spook the horses that the landlord and lady have. No complaints so far.

The Ninja 2 is quite good at idle but opens up nicely when some beans are needed.

My Nur Spec R has been fitted a week now!

It's a awsome, a cracking sound, much more along the lines of my old MY05 STi.
The flat four rumble is definitely back, something that was missing in the 2.5ltr.

I don't find it too droning on the motorway, which has been tested as i've done 500 motorway miles this week! 300 of them with the Mrs, who said it also sounds a lot better.

My RB is totally standard engine wise, and i've noticed that with the R fitted I now get pops & bangs!
Anyone else noticed this, without a remap?
