it's that time of year again, insurance renewal its an '06 sti,

went with kwik fit last year via confused.com,think i paid £480 ish,

had my renewal letter today, opened the envelope and immediately checked

it wasn't april 1st,gone up slightly,

it's now £2304.93p WTF came to mind,

looked out the window just to check the scooby was still there and not a

bugatti veyron ,called them to find out WTF is going on,

it's your alloys they said the same ones i had last year GT1's

best price they then came up with was £1900 assistant was

nearly as shocked as me.

another search found me LV insurace for £500,looks like a day of phone calls

ahead,by the way i'm kicking on a bit ,42 ,

I managed to insure the P1 this year with Keith Michaels
Was originally with Admiral on a multi car policy and was costing me £448 but they wanted £900 this year with no mods declared

Keith Michaels have insured the car with all mods declared and covered - £750

Kwik Fit are a bit strange....
Did a quote earlier on a 05 Evo 8 Fq340 MR and they were the cheapest at £820 then did a second quote on a 55 Evo 9 Fq340 (basically the same car) and they want £2100

Exactly the same thing happened to me mate.

1st year of ownership, went via confused .com and Kwik fit were the cheapest at £480.
2nd year they hiked it up to £990 with no claims or any mods at all.

Rang up to ask why and they said it was due to the world ressestion

Went through the insurance forum on this site and was recommended Keith Michaels insurance via a user on here called Moley WRX (he knows imprezas inside out so understands all the mods )

He came back with a quote of £350 all inclusive with mods !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIGN ME UP BABY !!

Can't fault them at all, very knowlegable and polite .

Give him a shout mate it doesn't hurt to ask does it
