im after a sport cat for my 96 impreza, i dont really wanna spend 4-600 notes on one if possible. so im thinkin of buying a decat d-pipe and a sport cat and making up my own.
i can get the cats in 100 or 200 cell, 2.5" or 3" ends.
does anyone have any views on wether it makes that much difference to use 2.5" or 3" pipework. the rest of my system is 2.5"
my end goal is 300bhp
i sure i can 'lob' one together for around £300 wrapped.

Get a 2.5 one mate. Even in the future, because of there design you can cut the ends and will become a 3" cat. I have one of them as a back box on my ra. Even when cold and where it is you can smell it working. I cut the one end off and it gave me a 4.5" outlet.

do wot, lol.
ur saying get the 2.5 cat and if needed i can chop its ends back to 3" at a later date if required. im down with that, looking at the cat that makes total sense.
u say uv got a cat as a back box on ur motor, is that the only cat ur runnin? if so does it pass mot like that?

What downpipes are you looking at for that price? Only paid £250 for mine a couple of years back. If you look on e-bay or on the for sale section on here you can pick one up sub £150. Including modding mine to a true 3"was only £280.
