A mate of mine has just put a deposit on a import "N reg" STI classic, for sale localy in a car garage in bargoed, it was imported in 2007 but the V5 says it is a GLS or GLX is this normal..?? seems funny to me.
I have not seen it yet but he says it goes well, got some mods to it including a front mounted intercooler, any one got any history in imports and how to tell if its just been done up to look like an STI..??

Cheers mat, going down with him later so i will get the codes, where will i find out what the model codes refer to..is there a list somewhere.?
He is only a small dealer, dont think he has even got a sign up yet, he has not been there long, he says he dont know a lot about scooby's but in fairness to him he did mention the V5 before my mate give him a deposit

loads are down as GL's or GLX's it was a mistake by someone in the DVLA, there wasn't an option for the WRX so they stuck it down as anything.
With regards to the insurance, you either wouldn't be covered if you insured it as an GL or you would only be paid out for GL instead of WRX. Just get it insured as the correct model and you shouldn't have a problem
