Default Best place in South Wales to get work done??

After some work done on my car, and I`ve not the location or time till after Christmas.

I need a gearbox and diff swapped, and also a few other issues looked at.

Anywhere you can recommend thats not too expensive, and knows Subarus??

CJ Autos in Penygroes will do it for you. Chris has rallied Impreza's for years and run a Focus with Impreza running gear in.

Will mention you sent me, I have delivered 200yards away from him and never knew he was there.

Will pop up when I have chance, and have a word. As I`m sure someone who know the cars will get it sweet very quickly.
I haven`t got my head around it yet. Need to learn off someone. lol.

Well said, totally agree. Been ripped off by him and wouldn't go back if he was the last garage open

I have had Dave Coe do work with no issues. It was worth the money and not as expensive I thought, he even went out of his way to get some parts that I did not know had failed.

I have'nt trusted Dave since he told me just after i bought my car that i needed a new turbo. And quoted me £1000 to supply and fit. Thought id leave it for a few months to save up. And wouldnt you know,4 years down the line and about 60k it still has the original turbo. Speak as you find i say. Not heard too many good things about him recently though which is a shame because he is a nice guy.

I'm shocked a bit, have to admit i've never had any issue's with Dave or his work.
Yes he is a bit expensive but he's done a lot of work for me which has been top notch

Think i'll have to have a word with Mr Coe cos i know he will be disappointed he has lost customers and has a slight dent on his reputation

I know a guy who paid to have an engine done with new parts, and within 10 miles of driving out the engine went pop, low and behold second hand parts inside. Which were scavenged from parts in dead cars around the back, all denied of course, but you can tell the difference between new rods and pistons and second hand.

And from what I have heard he himself does good work usually, but the spanner monkeys there know jack all.

Garage, or someone with a garage, either way if they will change the box, and have a look over it and gimmie some rough idea on cost I`ll go.

I would rather it go to someone who knows the cars, as I could help and learn about them. As I want to get my head around how things work so I can do my own diagnosis instead of relying on other people.

Familiar story here i'm afraid.....except my turbo was fcucked (no boost, whining etc.) me being a bit green to subaru's at the time (back when i first bought her a few years ago) took her don to him to work his magic quoted me something around the £900 mark to replace existing or £1300 for a 'new uprated turbo'(same as whats on the p1's he told me). decided if a jobs worth doing and all that and bit the bullet, ended up with a VF29 on her (which i believe have been out of production for a fair while). Not quite what i was informed. Also neglected to inform me the car would need mapping to suit this new set-up, subsiquently t
resulting (not saying directly) in premature engine problems 12months or so down the line. As i say i had no idea on tuning these cars at the time so really trusted him and think he took the **** a bit to be fair.
There are other stories since but wont bore you with them guys, i'llm probably get done for slander as it is now!

I didn't mention Dylan on this thread as I suspect he's busy with his own build BUT his work is 1st class, a man you can trust (unlike some others listed above).
