Unhappy Alarm/Immobilser - Problem

Could it be the cold?

I have a TOAD Alarm and immobilser fitted that works the C/L as well. It's now developed a fault which is winding me up. The Armed/Disarmed LED is not illuminating at all. But when you "Dis-arm" using the Fob the little green LED on the fob lights but **** all happens .

However, the key will open the doors if its put in the door lock and the car will run fine. I have tried both fobs but the results are the same. The original installers is coming out to have a look as it's only been in since September.

Could I have done something stupid and pressed too many buttons at the same time?

Anyone help?

Sounds more like there's a fault with the alarm mate.

Surely they would of told you on the phone if you'd pressed a different sequence for a different feature.

In my years of selling alarms all be it for motorbikes they are a pain in the ****. work fine for ages then let you down for no reason at all. I got told by a major company that they only have an expected life range of 3 - 5 years. so you have to update to a newer one.

Good luck though as it's still newish.

Certainly sounds like the alarm but it should not work AT ALL if its wired to the ignition

Autosounds to the rescue It was the in-line fuse that's wired in miles away from prying eyes.

see what i mean, no reason what so ever for the fuse to blow.
I've been stranded on the motorway before due to a fuse blowing in the alarm system whilst i was driving and the immobiliser kicked in and cut the engine out.

One of my pet hates are alarms grrrrrrr
