Finally made a decision
After lots of umming and arrring ive eventually come to a decision.
As some of you know i've been toying with the idea of stripping my car due to ongoing problems. I was originally looking to replace the car with another Impreza. However, after getting ripped off by a fraudulent loan company I came to a decision today and have decided that as i am getting a runabout for daily use i am going to be turning my WRX in to a Track/Fun weekend car Obviously with having a 2nd car i wont need any comforts in the scoob
So the plan is as follows......
Repair/replace gearbox. Buy and fit an oil cooler.
Strip out the interior such as, rear seats and seatbelts, all sound system, unneccesary plastic trim, all sound proofing and carpets and anything else i can bin
These will be replaced by a bolt in Dash dodger roll cage and my current bucket seats and harnesses. And some shiney white paint inside
Also plan on changing my back box to a Track friendly one
I think 300bhp and around 1100kgs or less should be some fun
Hoping to get the car running in the next week or two and then do it bit by bit

Good call Calv, much easier having a run about, I toyed with the idea for ages and it defo pays for itself in fuel savings alone. Makes life a little easier too when carrying out mods, takes the pressure off getting it finished.

Great Calv - sorry the good old financial industry gave you the run around !! you'll get there in the end !! the beast will be a great stripped car I agree with Merv on the sound with no back seats - drove upto Bob Rawle's place with no seats, following a very very last minute fuel pump change - it was loud as ****

Calvin, are you going to totally gut the car of everything other than the front seats?
You'll need industrial ear defenders in the car even with a quieter exhaust system, I'd keep the carpets and sound deadening if I were you.
Good luck though with whichever way you choose.

Good work Calvin,
When I got mine all it had was a Racaro seat, door cards and dash, Nothing else. It wasn't too bad but it depends on your exhaust, my custom H&S is a lot quieter than the 5Ziggen.
Stick a fire wall in and that will cut a lot of the noise down

Cheers Rich. Will pop some pics up in here soon. Not worth a Project thread as there is more coming out than going in
