Default Track day in LLandow??

My mate and I who run a local car club have gotten together, and are looking into organising a track day at Llandow.

This is just an idea at the moment but would be later in the year, but who would be interested in a track day??

We are still to decide as to what day, this is purely a who`d be interested post.

I take it it would be a vectra impreza affair? just thinking of numbers that's all. Keep cost down and all that.
I'm up for it gives me an excuse to finish the RA sooner.

Nope, not associated with the Vectra clan anymore.

So would be a mixture tbh, what I`d say is that it would be unrealistic to have everyone going for it from start to finish (depending on numbers), so would split it up into sessions. With little cars going in one group and then bigger turbo cars in the second group.

It all depends on numbers and types of car, and when its all arranged and monies paid, organising it so like for like cars go together as much as possible, also wouldn`t be good if a £200 $hitter smashed up a £5k car.

Right we are looking at around the £50 mark based on around 20 cars, obviously the more who come the cheaper it is. But too many will bring its own issues etc etc.

Mon & Fri £1500.00
Tues to Thurs £1200.00
Sat £2000.00
Sun £3000.00

All plus VAT, so say a Tuesday, it would be £48+vat each based on 25 paying.

But as said this is just an idea at the moment, I won`t commit to organising it until I have a few more interested as its a fair wedge to pay out esp if only 10 go in total, as that would make others drop out as prices increase.

Yeah only thing that puts me off about weekends are they tend to get busy as people are off, they cost more, and without costing up the Fuel there and back, fuel around the track, then tyres, and possible mechanical faults/incidents, my opinion is to try and get it as cheap as possible. As it has the possibility to be a VERY costly activity. Will see about getting a flat-bed recovery lorry lol.

With Llandow, normally they'll put the beginners in one group, intermiediates in another and advanced into another for morning sessions and open pit in the afternoon.

As its mostly going to be SWS members attending, I think we'll all be taking it easy around each other not to damage each others cars as they are our pride and joy's.

I wouldn`t say its mainly SWS, as it should be half SWS, as I want atleast 20 there. And seeing as there should be a few Corsa`s, few Scoobys and a range of other cars from a Pulsar, Turbo Astra, etc etc so should be a range not only of cars but abilities.

It should be a good laugh and different from just a group of new age Impreza`s trying to keep up with the classics

Now now you two, perhaps you should have a private 3 lap shootout to settle your differences.

There's no differences, just grudging admiration from Jimbob and besides you're not supposed to race on a track day are you?

Good, it's looks like it's having a parallel fuel rail conversion as well as the uprated fuel pump, then and hopefully then it will be finished after a map tweak by Bob.

Thats what he should have done lol.

But I`ve seen a £200 quid car spank a 4x4 "performance car" at track days.

Its not about what you have its how you use it, and whether you actually do use it and not use it as just a crib sheet to be proud of

And did anyone mention a certain Spec -C?? Why can`t us classic owners have a bit of banter with the newer age owners, without one person (who knows who they are ) turning it into a "My cars the best in the world" thread??

VERY, VERY true indeed. As the driver of a VW Golf GTTDI found out last Wednesday between lampeter and llandysul, when he couldn't shake me off in a 16 year old vauxhall combo van

Just for interest is that the run where someone nearly wiped out the minibus full of Army cadets? I'm sure I saw a classic out of control or perhaps I must have been seeing things.

As for banter that is all it is; after all where I have ever seriously said that my car was better than anyone elses?

If you can dish it out then you should expect it back in return...
