Default Brecon to Cardiff via the Taff Trail

Simon 2 others and I did the whole Taff Trail on Saturday some 55 miles from Brecon to Cardiff. We took a few wrong turns and ended up seeing parts of the Brecon beacons we had not planned but all in all a great day. We ended up close to 60 miles in total, after 2 high speed offs and a woman taking the plunge in the canel near Brecon made the finnish knackerd but very pleased.
The ride was in aid of the charity St Davids foundation.

I recorded the ride Via the GPS app Endomondo, you can see the route here .

Well done guys. Did the same ride last year. Was fantastic but I hit the wall not far after pontypridd.

Again well done.

That is a great route, also did it last year for Ty Hafan. Wanted to do it again this year but missed the cut off for entry It does get a little boring after Abercynon though!

The first half of the ride is deffo the more interesting part, actually enjoyed the 6 1/2 mile climb from Talybont res up the forest road to the top.

I found all the gates on the bottom section a royal pain in the a**e as you have to keep stopping which kills your pace
But I suppose they have to be there to stop all the muppets on crossers ripping the place apart

Dodging the dog s**t is also a game worth playing on some of the sections

Nice work chaps! Not a bad average either that Kev. I'll be up for this next year - we should get a Sn team together!

Surprised myself as after mile 26 I was in unknown territory, the biggest question was food and drink since we were looking at 5,000 calories for this.

No, just the one way was quite enough.
