Default Clio 182 Sport re-map

I am Scooby less waiting for my mate to part with his classic. So sorry but I have an 05 Clio 182 Sport at the moment. I would like to have it re-mapped I am in the Swansea area. Is it worth chaning filters or fuel pump first?

A 182 will be as fast as a scoob if driven properly so save your cash as a map will not give much gains other than slightly improving drivability.

Agreed, in real world conditions they are fast, just don't trust my rs197 in very high speed bends, I don't like opposite lock above a ton.

Fiction.

Although my mates 182 cup will sit with me for a short while on the A4069 the whole package of the impreza ie awd, chassis etc will shine through in the end.

But it's all down to the driver at the end of the day.

In the wet aswell??! Can't see it myself, yes they are nippy, they are good in the twisties, but in the wet they are a deathtrap!! I do speak with experience, drove my mates 172cup many times and my brother in laws 182, you can't knock they are are a handy little car but in the real world with the weather we have here, scooby killers they most definitely are not!!

Small example, we were together in a row of traffic on the a470 going into the horseshoe bend, we overtook on the bend and I left him standing, I waited for him on when I got to Nant Ddu,off we went again and he just got further and further away in my rear view mirror, and by his own admission he had no chance, can't get much more real world situ than that for me. Oh and they are shocking going uphill, powr was non existent IMHO.

Great cars but not for me, 4wd even if the scoobs are partial to a bit of understeer from time to time!!!

Rob

Lol not disputing they are a very good car inthe dry, I just have doubts on them in the wet, and as you said, high speed cornering I didnt find them the most confidence inspiring!

Oh would this be when I was running my engine in I wonder?

To be honest yes we did go astray when we got to Trecastle but I did actually ask you to go in front of me as I was RUNNING IN the engine but YOU insisted on following me, it was a 50/50 as to which way to go.

I was driving at the rear of the group taking all the abuse of the farmer if you can all remember that far back, and as you Jarvis had stopped and then insisted on going to the very back of the pack just before Trecastle, perhaps you were having difficulty keeping up with the big boys cars?

We're an Evolution Chips remapper, I can squeeze another 10bhp out of the 182 and improve the torque but as other have said, it's tuned quite well by Renault themselves, the biggest gains are to be had by turbo cars.

It's the German made diesels I can get the best results out of, I remapped my mates Fabia VRS last week, that's now running 175bhp and about 270 lb/ft of torque, it's quite impressive
