A Plan has been hatched
Just thought I`d give you an update on progress with the car.
Car was delivered down to 3 arches last weekend and fair play to the guys there the engine was out and inspected by Tuesday morning.
After a few more calls and discussions what we were going to do a plan was agreed and the parts were placed on order.
As a true measure of their ability and commitiment the guys at 3 arches will have all the work completed by the middle of next week (as long as all the parts come through on time).
Back on the road, car will have to be run in for a few mlies so Gemma`s has a week off work and I`ve mapped her out a route to complete each day to run up the miles, got to keep her busy while I`m in work .
With a following wind and the run in miles and a few more completed the car has been booked in with Mr Rawle at the beginning of March, so it is going to be a busy and expensive couple of months.
Photo`s and maybe spec will be posted when the car is completed.

Update time - Right unfortunatly due to a delay in parts delivery the car won`t be completed by this Wednesday.
Having a chat to Dean at 3 arches we are hopefull that all the parts that are outstanding will be delivered on Wednesday, so we are now lookign at worst case getting the car back by the middle of next week so the car`s first run maybe to the meet

Hoping that the rest of the parts will be arriving today so that the main part of the build can be started. The guys have done a fair bit of work in preperation so putting all the pieces back together should be a fairly quick job.

Little update folks the guys at 3 arches have been working over time and a phone call from Dean at 6.45pm (still slaving way on the car) to say that he is looking at getting the engine in and running by lunch time tomorrow.
If this is the case then Cinderella will go to the scooby ball tomorrow night.
Gem and I can`t say thanks enough to Dean and the team for the work on the car and the help and advice they have provided. and a taster to show the progress, new modified oil pump, new modine and perhaps a few uprated parts inside

Well done to Three Arches for getting the repair done so swiftly and professionally, I dare say that both Dave and Gemma are itching to get behind the wheel.
I know the tedium of runnning an engine in, you have my sympathy as I know I wouldn't like to have to do it again.

woohoo . Can't wait to get the car back now.
Fingers and Toes crossed that it all goes well this afternoon and I finally get my freedom back and can stop relying on lifts and dreaded Public transport to get me around.
Never had to run an engine in before so will be a first for me.

Your right there Ty it is going to be teduious but the end result will be well worth the effort. Gemma has a map with a route mapped out that she will start tomorrow while I`m in work to start notching the miles up.

It doesn't take long to run it in, Just keep below 4.000 RPM and 0.5 bar of boost and things should be okay. You don't need to be gentle either as you need to give it a work out to get heat into it.
Country roads are the best, doing motorway miles is next to useless
