Default Spec C - It's Well And Truly F*#@ed Now

Today the last of the parts have been removed from my Spec C which I've broken due to engine 'issues'.

The black STi interior and carpet removed, the BC coilovers and the Spec C quick rack / pump and pipework.

The good news is that the shell has no rust either anywhere on it, and it has been sold as is and will be going to a rally team as a spare shell for which she will be ideal.

So not the end of the road for the car rather it is a new beginning, I'd hate to see her crushed for scrap value.

Thanks to Ryan for all the help with the stripping, I couldn't have done it without you.

I don't mind admitting it was gutting to see her stripped down but onwards and upwards, the good news is that I'm currently looking at her replacement and 99% likely it's going to be a Subaru.

The mud flaps are ripped, the pillar trims can stay with the car and the speedo is only good for newage models with manual DCCD control like my Motorsport Spec C so a very limited market.

Besides I've got to leave them something for inside the cabin.

Are the carbon looking things on the outside of the windows the pillar trims? If so I'd have them mine are rather shabby and was looking at what to do with them if you wanted to drop them off you can have mine back in return

Why don't you just stick a uk speedo cluster in there and sell the Jdm ones Ty, another £200 by there

I know it's even worse being the owner.

Might just be an S202, although a couple of alternative options have presented themselves in the last 24 hours.

They are carbon dipped Craig, they were in turn swapped off another car which has been in with Ryan as for carbon dip finish was starting to go manky.

The speedo really isn't worth the hassle of swapping out as the Spec C speedo although it has red illumination doesn't have the sweep action.

And you wouldn't get a UK speedo with a manual DCCD display.

The shell was a bargain for someone not surprise it's been snapped up by a rally team.

Given the condition of the shell and it's ready made for the purpose it's a complete bargain, one phone call and it was sold.

If anyone had storage room somewhere that shell would have been a good investment, tuck that away safe and bring it out in 10 years time... Imagine the price tag on that mint shell in the future

Very true Simon, but I'd think it would need to be stored for a little longer than that to really achieve a massive price.

Look at the price of Escort mk1/2 shells, even the less desirable 4 door shells are going for stupid money.

Possibly Dean, I can't remember obliterating a toilet though?

It will be Steve, I can assure you of that. The only things that will be done are brakes and handling, plus a remap if it's a fresh JDM import.

Definitely not as extreme as before, I have well and truly learned a lesson there.

No problems Brian, a very sad state of affairs - I was gutted when I had to make the hard choice but it's gone now but not forgotten.

The Spec C is dead, long live the Spec C RA S202.

They were upgraded to Alpine 3 way speakers, Ryan did look at them but because of the wiring he decided it was more trouble than the worth of them.

And let me assure you there is no bigger seagull than Ryan.
