Hi all, new member from Swansea.
I don't have a scooby atm, I drive a mk1 Focus RS but I'll be getting a blobeye type UK STI hopefully in the next few months.
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all.

Thanks, if I'm free I'll try and pop down.
I'm after a 2003/4/5 STI Impreza blobeye shape, preferably a type UK and most likely without the DCCD as they're a bit too expensive right now.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Impreza ownership, try and get along to the Cardiff meet if you can.
As with most things there are pitfalls to avoid, and as someone who has been there and done it as have others on here I would leave the car as standard as you can.
Carry out some minor cosmetic changes if you're that way inclined plus a remap to free up a few more ponies but that is about as far as I would go with hindsight.

Can't be that bad surely duckdo?
Thanks Cannon Fodder, that's exactly what I did with my RS and I plan on doing the same with a Scooby. Brilliant advice and I appreciate it.
Thanks LWC, andy and glen. Which call centre did you work in mate? I know far too many people who work at that call centre!

Used to be fun when the prisoners rioted.
The TV camera crews perched on top of the grassy banks in front of CH, so they could focus the cameras over the walls of the nick !
My claim to fame is coming from town with my pie and chips and passing this piece who had all the airs and graces and who smelt like a naughty lady's boudoir.
I thought "I know her from somewhere".
A few yards down the road I passed an advert for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Grand.
Then I realised - it was Linda Lusardi.
Anyway, it's almost as short a distance from 'Jackland' as it is from Hillbilly country to the regular meet at Cardiff Gate.
I hope to see you there (looks like I'll be along, if only for an hour or so).

Welcome along tom, and the wonderul, stressful, exciting emptional rollercoatser of subaru ownership!
Your in safe hands with the guys here, get yourslef down to one of the meets and fire away with your questions.
You wont see me down there very often unfortuntely,(only manage to make a few a year) due to town pool league/ work commitments, along with the fact that ot costs me about £50 in fuel down and back the way i drive lol
Good luck with your seach for a nice blob, there are bargains to be had :-)

Sorry I haven't replied for a while, haven't been online much lately.
Ran some insurance quotes up the other day, and I'll definitely be getting an Impreza in about September next year - right now it's £1,800 to insure, in September only £700 so I'm going to enjoy my Focus for one more year.
I'll keep my eye out on the meets though for any local ones 'cos I'll definitely come down.

Might be useful to come before you get one.
You get to meet the people and there's nothing better than a conversation to discuss options etc. Much better than back and forth via posts.

Definitely LWC, that's the plan.
You'd think so infected yeah but it's a grand more for a Scooby at present. Think it's because there are so few Mk1 RS's on the road that they're never nicked/crashed so they're really cheap to insure.
Thanks KJD I love mine but the Scooby has always been the dream.
