Hi

I am not very technical when it comes to cars, so please forgive me. I have a 2004 Impreza Hawkeye. Unfortunately the gearbox needs to be replaced and I am desperately searching for an economic second hand replacement. Recent arrival of my baby daughter means that I need to try and keep costs low.

Has anyone got a second hand 2004-2005 UK 5 speed Impreza WRX gearbox (male driveshaft type) they are able to sell me? This is causing me a lot of stress and anyone who can help I would be very grateful too.

Check the for sale threads theres often gearboxes being soldor give matty a ring https://www.scoobynet.com/member.php?u=83516 ,, hes a trusted trader on here and about as fair as they come

No worries. ,,, the gearboxes are coded to the diffs so you have to get the right one ,,, if you havent had the car long and the gearbox has popped it would be worth checking someone hasnt stuck any old box in there ,, hence the pop ,, if you then copied the code youd be copying the mistake

If youve had the car a long time and know the history its probably just a case of swapping like for like

I believe a classic 5 speed will also fit?!?!

I screwed up a Bugeye 5 speed a few years back, and ScoobyTeknix as it was then, now ScoobySpares sorted me out with a box from a classic. If I recall correctly it was £400 all in (box and fitment).
