Default AP Racing 6 Pot Front Brake Setup

Before I start looking for a new set does anyone have an AP Racing 6 pot brake setup for sale?

Ideally for 5x114.3 PCD and be 330mm with good rotors, although 5x100 would be fine as I could get the bells redrilled.

Please PM me with what you have available.

Probably using their own kit, but I'd rather go for a full AP kit first out of choice.

The only thing that bothers me about the Alcon setup is the well known problems with the dust seals, they know it's a problem and have never done anything to rectify it.

6 pot AP's?alcons are good but in my opinion not superior to the AP caliper, and I have driven cars with both set ups...Plus the after care from Brembo/AP for getting replacement parts and options plus resale value AP in my opinion are hard to beat and would be my choice over the Alcons allday...SJ.

Along with the pistons rusting , and bells crumbling , and this can happen after only a couple of years.

We have supplied quite a lot of our own stainless steel pistons for these calipers , and we also make bells that don't corrode and crumble away.

Yes we offer a 330mm kit with the new 9040 forged 6 pot AP calipers for £1550 with either DS2500 or PF Z rated pads , other pads are available , price has a slight increase depending on what pad you fancy

http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/impr...30mm-kit-.html

We also sell complete AP kits , we don't just sell them with our discs bells and brackets

Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, how does the 6 pot 330mm kit compare to the 4 pot CP6600 330mm kit?

Sounds like you could of had another problem if it was on standard power, even when I upgraded to AP 6 pots the set up came with the ferodo pads as standard and they were shocking once you get some proper heat in them.SJ.

I take it them 9040 are the newer 7040 versions. (How much is the 'full' AP kit in that btw?)
I could of had some alcons, but they looked in a right state, big price of replacement discs and I've heard the seal stories too and then the aps came up.

Agree sj on the ds2500 set up on 6 pots, they are not the best pad for the caliper, can't wait to change them.

I have the ds2500 in mine too and hate them also, I'm getting Carborn Lorraine or cabotech next, maybe I'll try the pf but unsure if they will be harsh enough for me

I've not decided yet, might go for the carbotech still as apparently they are less noisy and last longer etc so could be a better buy for same performance.
But yeah £250ish sounds right for the 6 pots. I think the 7040/9040 use same pad I think?

Fairly long as it goes as I am trying to wear them down as we speak so I can justify changing them, but I feel above a certain power level or driving style they fade pretty badly and are borderline dangerous as when they start to get some serious heat in them they run out of grip.I have a set of PF race compounds to go in when they do but would not buy or use the DS2500 again,my mate has the DS3000 which he raves about I might give them a try at a future time.SJ.
