For some reason, some of the imported in particular WRXs have a 10 pin Central Door Locking box instead of the very common 8 pin boxes.
The world parts directory for 1992-1998 models lists the 8 pin 88201 fa 032 which is unsuitable...
ANYONE GOT OR KNOW WHERE OR EVEN KNOW IF THERE EXISTS FOR THIS 10 PIN ALPHA CO JAPAN BLACK BOX A SUBARU PART NUMBER ???????
I know of GRADE A and CENTRAL SUBARU spare dismantlers..Any other good ones?????????

Paul,
Don't know about part number but if you speak to Terry at Pro-Part in Northern Ireland (Subaru breaker specialists), he has the 10 pin boxes. Give him a call on 028 796 43954.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks for the info Chris.
It seems that some imports were built without central locking but were fitted as a extra option by the owners original garage in Japan. The CDL box is slightly longer, has ALPHA CO JAPAN WRITTEN on it and in my case has no Subaru part number......
It is probably logical to look in Ireland as many imports go through the Irish ports and auctions.Keep me informed.
If you have a problem with the Japanese dealer fitted Kenwood stereo, you might find the same problem. My radi-cassette player went wrong but was unrepairable as it does not exist in the Kenwood agents references or repair manual. And of course the graphic equaliser with CD unit then became reduntant as well as it was not compatible with UK head units.
Keep the thread alive on this matter of 10 pin CDL as there must be other owners of imports who must be suffering the same deterioration at about the 7 year age.
