The kind fitted to imports as standard, also the brackets that hold the heater controls in place (one each side). For a little project I have planned, hopefully quite cheap not expecting it to be perfect nick just decent.

No-one?
If anyone else is interested in this conversion perhaps we could get a few orders together and get them from the states? Would slash the delivery costs.

You are flogging a dead horse mate. I tried the yanks (1st Subaru I recall) and they won't deliver outside the US. Miserable gits. Yes thats you dealers accross the water there!!
I am in need of the part also so if you have any luck give me a shout.
thanks
Ken

Still looking!!!
The yanks did say they would deliver over here but the postage was something like $55 which I wasn't prepared to pay for an order of around $22!
If there are a few people interested I can look into putting together a group purchase to minimise the delivery cost. Would need to think about import tax as well though cos the combined cost being higher will make customs more likely to slap the charge onto it...

OK guys I've been looking into this and if a few of you are still interested I should be able to get the dash surround and two brackets to move the heater controls for around £25 including shipping to me and then delivery within the UK to you.
This doesn't include the large head unit brackets which will be required if you want to fit a double-DIN head unit. They may also be useful for fitting some other things in the top half, but with just a single-DIN radio you shouldn't need them IMO. If you want these it will be an extra £5-7.
I only hope we don't get stung by customs, but since the price to each individual is quite low the charges shouldn't be too bad - if we're unlucky it will be a few extra quid each.
Let me know if you are still interested and I'll make some more enquiries based on rough numbers.

Thanks Paul
Im definatly still interested, would these extra brackets be required if for example I wanted to fit another single DIN unit, like the SECS Unit
Cheers

Not really sure TBH, the way a double-DIN unit is secured is by removing those brackets from the dash, and screwing the headunit to the brackets from the sides then re-fitting the brackets attached to the HU into the dash.
Single-DIN units as you know are pushed into a cage at the front which is supported by the dash itself, and are held at the back by a rubber stub that goes into a hole.
So it depends on the SECS unit itself, whether it has holes in the sides etc. Could be an idea to either ask PSI3 or someone who's fitted one to the double-DIN slot in a Jap spec or new-age how it's secured.
