As post says - Standard turbo centre pipe with cat wanted but as a swap for a non-cat STI5 centre pipe.

I need a centre section complete with cat from s standard turbo. I have an STI5 which is getting a full SS exhaust and come MOT time I want to be able to swap to the catted centre section.

So if anyone has a standard turbo and wants to swap their catted centre section for a less restrictive non-cat centre section which frees up some mid-range torque - reply here

Question

Chris

I assume your full SS exhaust will include the downpipe. If so, isn't this decatted? The main cat (on UK Turbos anyway) is in the downpipe and that is the one you will need to pass an MOT. The mid section is a smaller cat used to meet tougher modern exhaust emission standards.

There are loads of people who run with a standard downpipe and decatted mid section that will pass the MOT, but I doubt if it works the other way around (unless you know a friendly MOT centre )

Any thoughts??

Cheers

Chris

Just reading a couple of posts on a similar subject it appears you might be alright to pass on the centre cat alone - so ignore my ramblings Still might need a friendly MOT tester though...

Passing with just the easily replaceable centre cat is what I'd hoped for

Just need to swap mine for a cat centre section.
