shims wont stop them from squealing - thats more a function of the brakke compound on the disc
You could copper grease the back and see if it helps a little - other than that change the pads - thats what I did
If you get any grinding noises on right/left lock then you have to chamfer the pad edges.............

would take a pic but cant til weekend sorry
yes the pads have some kind of lining on them
but what i have noticed about the squealing is
when i brake harder it goes
but if i brake slowly then you can here it
like when pulling upto lights slowly about 25mph or lower
yes i would ned all 8 shims
are they in good nick?
and how much you want?

I've a full set of squeal shims in the garage (4 per caliper - 8 in total) but it sounds like you may have half the set already fitted.

There in great condition, but have been used.
There the OEM ones that are designeed to be used with a few sets of pads.
IIRC they've done 8k miles.
First shim (that touches the pad) is a black coated one with slotted vents, and the second (fits over the first) is a stainless steel job that fits against the pots.
Should post easily enough in a jiffy bag but surprisingly their quite heavy.
Price wise - £10 posted any good ?
Post your pic up first though - just need to check their the right shape.
