Does John not run with DCCD? Andy.F was running with one one his type R. Maybe he could clue you up on the details. Also had it wired so he could lock it at the touch of a button for take off......

Graham as far as i know the DCCD unit has a seperate 'ecu' that you will need to get hold of wich intergrates with the thumb wheel switch and the little christmas tree of lights in the dash. The last time i was down at API david had one sitting on his desk!
The whole led assembly just seemed to clip into the dash with a seperate connector on the back so maybe if you just got hold of the leds you might be able to intergrate them with your current dash.
Going to be at TOTB at the weekeknd?
Dan.

Thanks Dan.
I have deceided to go and see David (close to me so easy) and discuss my options on the box and what to do for next year.
I might be able to get the loom/ecu off the crashed doner car that the box came from if they do not sell to someone with a bid ahead of me.
That will help.
No, cant go to TOTB as the wife wants to go to Silverstone!!!!!!!!, and the Daughter wants to go to TOTB.....such is life in a petrol head household.

Graham,
You'll need the clock set from a DCCD car, although the led positions are in the back of your clocks, the front part is solid.
So, you'll need the clocks, DCCD ecu, thumb switch (variable pot) & loom. Think that's all iirc.
Gerry.
PS Also, a bigger fuel tank and some driving lessons

Gerry:
Thanks for the tech info, and you are very right about the driving lessons!
If you can clock a speedo can you clock a 54 year old wannabie racer back 30 years asap as the young bucks are gathering round.....
Back to the tech: are all the parts you list free of the car loom or integrated into it?
Maybe the Sti v3 loom has the dccd wires all ready there and waiting?
I know someone with all the bits, but they are promised to another!
Grrrrr...

Unfortunately the loom isn't in the STi., that'd be too easy. iirc David's ecu has had the wires cut short. It shouldn't be too difficult as the wires are different colours better still if you can get a wiring diagram. They're integrated into the Type R loom, so it all needs to be unwrapped.
When I first spoke with David about fitting DCCD to mine, he suggested, to keep cost down, just fitting the centre diff, with no control, i.e. permanently open.
Gerry
PS you're still a youngster so stop complaining Experience counts and you should know the way up those hills by now

Thankyou.
Do you do Personal Training as a side-line?
The dccd in open mode leaves the bias very toward the front (iirc)
The doner car is a write-off and nobody will want the car loom so maybe that is on the list too!
Are you going to Prodrive sat or sunday?

Me??? Personal training??? For what???? Not driving I'm afraid. Maybe we could sort a job lot with John Felstead. BTW if you haven't read his thread on DCCD the real translation, do.
DCCD open is biased to the rear, 65 - 35 as near as dammit. So more oversteer
Going to Prodrive on Sunday, do you have tickets? I was going to TOTB but Banbury's a lot nearer than York.

I've seen it but not bothered till now. Thanks Gerry.
I'm at Prodrive tomorrow, tried to get The Wife to Elvington for Sunday, and then to Duxford for the Street Rod Nationals, but...Silverstone here we come!
I think lessons fron John Stevenson would help me.

Blimey! You're busy.
I think lessons from anyone would help me..............even you Graham Sorry, couldn't resist.
I'm goingto give the Scobby an airing to Prodrive, apparently if you show up in one, you can park next to their building and away from the herds of door bashers.
Have a great weekend.
