Default Up-rated intercooler setup

Good morning,

I am currently looking for an up-rated intercooler setup for my R reg WRX Subaru impreza estate.
The car has many mods including fully rebuilt engine (STI 9 Crank, rods, forged pistons etc) larger turbo, injectors, cams.
Now the car still has the same intercooler as standard and has been mapped using the Apexi Power FC and runs 343 BHP. There are no problems with knock etc but I feel the intercooler is a must change and to be honest a remap will then really bring the potential out in the car, as the intercooler can`t be working well at this level of tune
Has anyone got an up-rated intercooler either TMIC or FMIC that they have for sale. I am looking for a good quality well known unit and not an ebay special!
If you have anything lying around let me know as I may be interested.
Thanks
Lee

How good is the STi 8 intercooler tho and what work would need doing to get it to fit.

I am going to be running around the 350BHP mark with the intercooler uprated and do you think the STI 8 is upto that?

I want a really relaible unit to get low intake temps which is why I am thinking of a FMIC although that does give me the hassle of relaocation an oil cooler!

Also how good is the STI 5 in terms of what power / boost you can run?

Thanks

Sounds like it might be a good cheaper way to go.

Was looking at the Hyper flow TMIC or a FMIC.

Has there ever been any tests comparing the STi8 cooler to say the Hyperflow.

Tried searching for hours last night on threads and to be honest got so confused on different peoples views

Dont bother with aftermarket TMICs. STi8 TMIC is very good.

Or you can go for a FMIC.

Best advice is find someone you trust (your mapper?) and go with that.

Sounds like a good bit of advice to me,

Might give the TMIC sti 8 a go then and see how I fair with that, and then change to a FMIC of need be.

The STi 8 would certainly be the simplier option to start with.

Dont suppose you know anyone with one knocking around?
