PPP Backbox
#1
Does anyone have one of these that they might want to sell?
Just thinking out loud. My std exhaust was damaged by the dealer and could be repaired but might be a good excuse to replace.
regards
Jason

Jason,
The PPP back box is only available with the full performance pack from Prodrive, but can be replaced if damaged (I know yours is a STD box) by ordering through your Subaru dealer when they supply Prodrive a chassis number of a PPP'd car.
I sourced one secondhand for £180.
The one being offerd here, I suspect, is the Prodrive WR Sport after market backbox available from any Subaru dealer, and it has an oval tailpipe, not the round tailpipe of the PPP box.
They don't come up for sale very often, good luck.
They are allegedly manufactured by Scorpion exhausts, so you could buy one of their reasonably priced backboxes.
I have compared mine visually, to a Scorpion and the the method and style of manufacture seems identical. Although I cannot see what sound deadening material is used in either box, the physical construction appears the same with th eexception of th eone I was looking at had a 3" pipe going into the silencer compared to the 2.5" on the PPP box. It also had a 4" tailpipe in lieu of a 3.5" tailpipe of the PPP, so is probably slightly? noisier.

Jason,
Ask your dealer if they have any concerns about swapping your backbox, and warranty issues.
Some dealers do bother, but I believe a lot don't mind.
And you can swap it in about 15 minutes. There are only 3 bolts to undoe. Its a doddle. And if you have long arms you dont even need to jack it up, but it is more difficult like that.
