Default Engine

My engine has melted a piston again, dont fancy another £3000 rebuild by API so am looking for a second hand engine, has to have low mileage, anything considered

Needs to fit a 2001 classic, so basically a phase 2 classic

Cheers, Dave

i have a v5 long engine (missing inlet) was only removed as i have fitted a forged lump but the mileage is a little over 100k yours for £500 (mileage means nothing on an engine without reliable servicing the engine i have is dealer stamped till 84k then 2 buy my self with receipts and it had 2 cam belt changes i have a dyno for this engine running 326bhp only 6 months ago fully mapped by jgm was running sweet as a nut when removed)

Not sure why until we strip it down but after initial inspection we cant see anything wrong, its melted piston 4 where as it was piston 3 that went before if i remember correctly.

I never got a diaognosis the first time when it was rebuilt so not sure what it could be but like i say everything seemed fine and was running sweet until it happened and the car has only got 44000 on the clock and has been maintained and serviced no expense spared.

I just want to get it sorted and get it sold, its a shame because i love it and its in excellent condition but i have just had enough of the constant risk of sudden engine failure and the bill which follows, no car should break this often and its the end of an affair with imprezas as far as im concerned

give me back my S2 106 Rallye anyday lol
